If we aren’t already friends on My Fitness Pal, we should be. I’m jenni41013.
I had a rough week. My loss only totaled .8 pounds. Blah. I’m embarrassed by it, but everybody told me this would happen eventually. I’m 50 days into my new journey and I’ve been pretty successful so far, so I guess I shouldn’t complain.
So when you are counting calories, you get pretty choosy about what you eat. I have no intention of wasting my daily ‘allowance’ on garbage. I usually plan ahead and try to get the most tastiness out of my day. Today, I was running late. Thankfully, I discovered a bagel in my bag that I’ve been carrying around since last Thursday. I took one bite this morning and realized it was just about stale, but I was hungry and already at the office. I toasted it. Problem solved right? Wrong! Now I had to find something to put on it. Hmmm. Jif peanut butter! Woo hoo! High in calories, fat, etc but I decided to use a little tiny bit to help the bagel go down. A few bites into that and the toasty stale bagel was tossed out.
At lunch, I realized that I left my turkey at home. I did have an 80 calories yogurt, a few strawberries and a sprinkle of granola. While this was tasty, it was not very satisfying after my less than stellar breakfast.
Finally it’s dinnertime! I’m looking forward to this…I put a pork roast in the crockpot with a southwestern sauce this morning. We were going to have pulled pork over rice. Apparently, I can’t tell the difference between LOW and HIGH. I cooked the pork on high for 12 hours instead of on low. As you can imagine, the roast once shredded was extra dry and less than saucy. Most of the sauce had dried on to the side of the crockpot. My family rocks and they ate it anyhow. Give them a bit of BBQ sauce and they will eat anything. I chocked some down.
With 112 calories left for the day, I think I should just quit while I’m ahead.
